UBG is my pick too. Although I've never owned one of Nate's holsters - yet (I've got my FIRST one coming to me in the mail this week) I have seen his work and it is FABULOUS! His price is good and I hear his delivery time is top notch!

Take a look at Nossar Gunleather. Alex is great to work with and makes some fine holsters. (www.nossargunleather.com)

Well KD was one of the first that came to mind, but with KD out, I'll give a +1 on UBG. I don't yet have a Sideguard holster yet, but I will once he supports the Ruger SP101. You can also try Blackhills Leather and Andrews Leather, all make great products, and are fine folks to deal with.

Well,

I have an Andrews "MacDaniel 2" for my 1911; I have a "Canute" from UBG for my M&P 40, I have a Tucker "The Answer" for my G19. I unhesitatingly recommend all three of these for quality, and both Sam Andrews and Nate at UBG for service (I bought the "Answer" used, so I have no experience with Tucker on service). I have a Brommeland Max-Con VI on order, and I bet I would add Gary's work to my recommendation after I get it, but I figured you wanted actual experience behind any recommendations.

Sig P229 SAS, Sig P229 and Kimber ProRaptor II, as well as double mag pouches for them all. I and my club spend a hefty sum of money each year on guns and gear, and the right person could reap some rewards if they take this on. I have ordered and love my Mernickle rig, top notch. Now, I need some IWB gear for the above. Who's up?
I must wonder what you want that some makers do not want to take the job? What are you looking for? There are some excellent Holster makers who have web sites.

Maybe with a little more information as to what you want someone could better help.
Regards,
Jerry

I have a Mag pouch from UBG and just bought my father a SNAP from Sideguard, arrived yesterday. Both are wonderful and I have no issue recommending either.

I'd also like to know what it is you're after that Kevin doesn't think he can make. His work is top notch, so I'm guessing you're looking for some unusual feature or configuration.

All the makers that have been recommended are great, but KD is in the same league, so to get a better recommendation maybe you can elaborate on exactly what you're after.

I for one would feel lucky that the holster maker was honest with me. I would rather you tell me "no" or "I don't know" rather than lie to me.

I would wager that all of our holster makers want and need the work. I'm sure that not all of them are millionaires just yet.

Good luck in your quest for the perfect leather.
