5.11 Internal Pockets

Pockets are located here:

The mag pockets are actually two separate pockets, not the one big one shown in the diagram.

How large a pocket is the 'Concealment' pocket?
What size autoloader would fit inside that area?

Thanks,

- Janq

Paul, I believe it was your thread and pics I looked at over on THR - excellent pics and review, it's what convinced me to order a pair.

I'll more than likely be carrying a 642 j-frame and, eventually, a PPK in the appendix pocket so I suspect it'll conceal just fine. I've got Brommeland leather for my primary guns along with an UCC shirt holster on the way so the biggies are already taken care of.

Did you notice any major shrinkage after washing your jeans?

Since this topic has grown legs again, here's a little more info.

What's the general consensus on these as far as:
1). Weight of the denim (compared to Levi's)
Heavy weight denim, similiar to original Levi's

Quote:
2). Quality of construction
Excellent.

Quote:
3). Ease of front pocket carry (j-frame or a PPK)
While the internal pocket is fine for carry, I sometimes still use a pocket holster to keep the pistol orientated properly.

4). Usefulness of those appendix pockets for actual carry (again, w/ j-frame or PPK)
Pockets themselves are well built, strong, and have a built in 'print panel'. My draw time is slower than IWB, but faster than Smarycarry.

5). Anything else that stands out?
see the rest of this post.

Approx 5"x6"

My Glock 26 fits quite nicely. YMMV

My 5.11 jeans were made in Venezeula, not Mexico or China. Not saying that is better, just clarifying the facts

No noticable shrinkage at all. Turn them inside out to wash.

I will post pictures of the insides of the 5.11 jeans, showing pocket sizes and orientation as soon as I can charge the camera batteries.

5.11 insider pics

I am not very good with pics, so hopefully this works. Attachments are included below.

Pic 1: Glock 26 and 2 x Glock 19 mags.
Pic 2: closer view of the 'pistol' pocket with G26 inside.
Pic 3: closer view of the mag pockets with G19 mags inside.
Pic 4: handcuff pocket (pretty worthless if you're not a LEO)
