Do kydex clips work with Wilderness or Rafter S belts?

Hi all,

I currently use a Wilderness belt for carrying my CCW. My holsters are a Sidearmor IWB for my G19, and a Milt Sparks Executive Companion for my Sig P239. Both of these holsters use belt loops. I really like the secure feeling I get using loops. I usually carry around 3:00 or so.

I'm looking for a new IWB holster for my G19 that allows the gun to ride a bit lower than my Sidearmor allows. I'm considering the Comp-Tac CTAC, K&D Dakota Defender, and a few more.

I'd like to know if anyone has experience using a Wilderness belt with kydex clips. It would seem to me that the clips may have a tendency to slip off (especially on the draw) since the Winderness belt is thinner than leather gun belts.

I also have a Rafter S belt, but I've also heard the CompTac clips don't work well for these belts either because the belt is almost too thick! I really prefer my Wilderness belt because it's so adjustable.

Anyway, if you have any experience with CompTac Kydex clips and Wilderness belts, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks!

Chris

I carry in a Comp-Tac C-T.A.C. on a Wilderness belt using the Kydex c-clips. The combination works great.

Same here. I carry my Crossbreed Supertuck on a Wilderness Intructor belt daily. I don't have any issues with the draw or any other time. The holster is very secure.

Are you talking about J clips, ones that fit just around the bottom of the belt? If you are, that can be a problem on any belt, & keep in mind with those clips, the belt's not taking any of the weight of the gun, just your pants.

If not, there shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the replies, guys! I am, in fact, talking about the standard clips, not the J clips.

I have a Wilderness belt and CTAC (with standard clips) on right now. No problems.

My Rafter S is both thick and wiiiiiiiiiide. The standard clips are a snug fit on my CTAC. Doesn't pull out like the J-clips

I wear a Wilderness belt and use a Tucker Cover-Up IWB holster. Tucker uses CompTac Kydex clips on his holsters. I use the "standard clip" and it works great. It holds very securely to the belt, but can still be easily removed when you need to take off the holster.

Standard Comp-Tac clips work perfectly with both Wilderness and RafterS belts. Leather belts, being thicker, cause a bit more flexing of the clip. If you put the holster on and take it off a lot, you can flex out the clips. I came up with a solution for that: http://www.tuckergunleatherblog.com/...ex-belt-clips/
