Cool, thin, lightweight undershirt for summer carry?

Hi all,

I did a search for "undershirt" in the archives and couldn't find this topic discussed before...

I'd like to find some sort of thin, lightwight undershirt for summer-time carry that will keep me cool. I currently don't wear an undershirt of any type in the summer, and I'm finding that during high humidity days, the side of my torso gets a little raw with the gun's grip rubbing against it.

What do you guys use as a summer-time undershirt while carrying? I'm thinking about trying one of those UnderArmor/athletic shirts, or maybe just a thin cotton tank top.

Thanks for your help!

Chris

I mostly use the standard "wife beater" under what ever cover shirt I'm wearing. I have a couple Coolmax shirts that I wear when it's really hot. You can look into Underarmor shirts. Underarmor are basically Coolmax fabric anyway. I have found these type of shirts at Old Navy for cheap.

I use the same - "wife beater" or A-shirt (as Hanes or Jockey calls them) for the exact reason you mention, Chris17404.

Also 5.11 has some undershirts that wick moisture.

Protect
Under Armour HeatGear Compression shirts. They are moisture wicking and fit like a second skin.

I wear a long sleeved one every day, even in the summer. They make short-sleeved and sleeveless as well.

wife beater here too, about as cool an option as I've found during our humid deep-south Summers.

Funny thing is, I wear wife beaters but the one and only time I tried to play/wrestle with my wife I quickly found myself pinned to the couch with my head shoved between the cushions ... I was just err, umm, building up her confidence - yeh, that's the ticket!

Underarmor. You can find similar shirts made by Reebock, Russell and others too.
