Safariland 6004 Holster
I don't know if this belongs under the holster threads or here in the LE discussion. My apologies if it is in the wrong section of the forum.
I have a Safariland 6004 drop leg holster to carry my Taser X26 in. I carry it on my support side. It has two leg straps on the shroud. I just started wearing it, and it is a little uncomfortable. A fellow officer just made me aware that Safariland makes a single strap shroud for the same holster that I have. I'm wondering how much more comfortable it would be and if it is stable enough for a good draw. Perhaps someone who uses either of these set ups could help me. Thanks.

Wow, I guess that no LEOs use this rig for their tasers. Well, in any event, I went ahead and ordered the single strap shroud for duty carry.

Cancel your order and get out the dremmel tool. I take the top strap off and cut the back plate so that it rides higher. Very easy to do.
This is a picture of me and a SIG 226 after the holster had been cut. ![]() Notice how much higher the holster is on my leg. |
