Wilderness Belt Question
Going to order the Instructor Belt to carry a Sig P220 and Kimber CDP Pro. I was wondering which up-grades if any to get? Are the 5 stitch and or polymer lining worth the added $?

The polymer liner is a must-have IMO.

And 5-stitch as well. Of course you'll be coming up into double layer leather comfortability.
Your choice.

The liner is overkill IMO unless you are carrying cuffs, light, oc, mags and gun. The 5 stitch is perfect for full-size 1911s and a couple spare magazines. It's plenty stiff enough but not so stiff that it's uncomfortable.

I also found that wearing the polymer-lined Wilderness created more of a "print." Because it doesn't really flex a lot, it tends to bulge out from the sides of the holster.
I switched to a 5-stich and couldn't be happier. |

I have a 5 stitch 1 3/4" Instructor Belt. I have carried a 7 1/2" Redhawk on mine, and didn't feel the need to have the polymer lining.

I discussed this very matter with The Wilderness folks when we started selling the Instructor's belts. They told me that the polymer lining is way overkill for carrying just a firearm & related ccw stuff. This option is intended to allow an Instructors belt to do the job of a police duty belt (cuffs, radio, baton, etc - in addition to firearm and reloads), but is very stiff and not as flexible/comfortable as the 5-Stitch version.
For CCW, the 1-1/2" 5-Stitch models are superb! I can comfortable carry a 5" 1911 and double mag pouch with mine and have exactly the same degree of support that is provided by one of my Combat Dress Belts. |

+1 on the five stitch. It provides enough stiffness to carry a gun and a couple of mags, but it's still comfortable.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like it'll be a 5 stitch model.
