would a small backpack style purse work as equally effective camouflage?
smart thinking. ill defiantly have to practice with it. i can still get to my gun just as fast but im not sure about how it hanging off my arm will effect me. i may have to practice drawing from through the loop (so that the bag falls off my shoulder when i draw)
a full size backpack works great as camouflage and does not slow anything down. a purse size backpack wouldnt hide anything where i keep it.

I know exactly what you mean. Its rare I don't leave the house without my messenger bag over my shoulder, it covers up any printing that my IWB J-frame might have.

NO WAY! I don't care how well it works... I'm NOT carrying a purse!

If it's a Paratrooper bag w/ skull & shoulder strap, it's NOT a purse.

ok so i take back the comment on how smart i am.
i said how i would have to see how it works with the bag kinda falling off my shoulder. I always have mine on over my left shoulder and across my chest to the bag on the right! duh. so its not going to be getting in my way at all for access or cause any trouble throwing my off balance shooting. hurrah

Just a thought. But when you bend over to pick up items are you bending at the waste or at the knees? The knees are the proper way to squat down and retrieve items. It is also healthier for your body to do this instead of putting stress on your back. But it also keeps your firearm properly concealed instead of sticking up like a flag.

You guys are not going to start wearing Bros are you to go with those European man bags?

A pretty blue one.

Actually, I don't own any purses or man bags or whatever you call them.
