A Sparks' 55BNH is my choice if I'm not carrying IWB.

"The guys at Gunblast did a review on this holster and were very impressed. The holster has a large welt of leather sewn to the bottom of the rig to keep the gun from falling out away from the body. It evidently carries the 1911 quite high and tight to the body.
It looks interesting to me."

A friend of mine got one of those recently. That stabilizing piece you mention is a really nice feature.

I carry my 1911 in a G-Code paddle holster. From about mid-September through mid-June a light jacket or a coat conceals. In the summer I wear an open shirt or a 5.11 vest over a t-shirt. Works for me.

[QUOTE=dbshabo;444300]I found a OWB high ride 1911 holster I'm thinking about buying. It's made by Mernickle Holsters (www.mernicklholsters.com). The item # is PS6.

I have that holster, belt and mag pouch from Mernickle. It is one of the finest holsters I have seen and use. I assure you, you would not go wrong with this one. Great features for the $$'s.

No problem at all carrying a full-size 1911 OWB. It's all a matter of getting the right rig: holster, belt and cover garment. Like Tarleton Ranger, I use a Tucker HF1. Below are pics of the Ultra CDP II and the Desert Warrior.
