1911 Owb

I'm guessing that there is no way for us non-LEO types to carry a full-size 1911 concealed OWB.

1911NM
full size

I carry my Kimber full size OWB all the time. Oversize square tailed shirts untucked, or when the weather permits, a light sport vest, like Columbia etc. A t-shirt helps when wearing under an oversize shirt. Grip tends to rub my hide off particularly when sweating. good luck.

I found a OWB high ride 1911 holster I'm thinking about buying. It's made by Mernickle Holsters (www.mernicklholsters.com). The item # is PS6.

The guys at Gunblast did a review on this holster and were very impressed. The holster has a large welt of leather sewn to the bottom of the rig to keep the gun from falling out away from the body. It evidently carries the 1911 quite high and tight to the body.
It looks interesting to me. I love my 1911 but have yet to find a way to carry it comfortably. I'm hoping this may be a good solution.

OWB is ALL that I carry. My 5" Springfield rides in a Tucker HF1 daily underneath a t-shirt or polo very easily. As a relatively small guy, 5 '9 and 160lbs, I originally thought I might have a problem concealing a large pistol this way, but it works for me!

I carry full size 1911s OWB, I don't have ANY IWB for the full size guns I have.

I carry that way year round.

I also (5'3", 105 lbs) can successfully carry and conceal a full size 1911 in an OWB small-of-the-back belt holster.

Where there's a will, there's a way.
