Help locating clips for holster making

I have recently been 'forced' into making holsters for my Tanfoglio Witness, as many holster makers do not seem to have it as a supported pistol.

I am looking for a source for metal and kydex clips for holsters, and wondered if someone could point me in the right direction.

Normally, I can Google just about anything, but the sources for clips seem to be well kept secrets. I am up to page 59 in the archives, and haven't seen much.

Thanks,
Mike

About any of the holster makers will sell them , and if i am not mistaken the " make your own kydex holster thread" has instructions with pics on how to form your own.

Tandy Leather stores sell spring steel clips. Only one mounting hole near the bottom though. I bought a couple a few days ago at a Houston Tandy store. Will have to drill another hole in them myself.

Thanks for the help

I appreciate the replies. The Roll your own Kydex thread will be the biggest help - I didn't realize you could get professional looking clips that easily... The ones in the "how to" are indistinguishable from the "commercial" ones.

Eric - I will call you for the sources.. thanks for the offer.

Thanks again, all!

Mike

Can you elaborate please, Sir?

I haven't done anything with them yet, just toying with an idea to mod a holster I own and they were easy to find. They appear to be solid spring steel.

Before I mess with them, I'd appreciate more info on why you think they are non-trustworthy.

Absolutely....tandy springs appear solid and they are to a point. But there are spring clips that are made for the demands of carry a CCW.
They are alot stronger and have other features that are designed for IWB carry.

The springs are far superior to anything youll find at any local shop.
If you care to call me....Ill send you a couple to try and them you can see the difference.

Hope that explains it alittle further and no offense was meant in my earlier post....Ive tried everything out there and finally found the ones that I trust.....with my holsters and my clients as well.

Shoot well.......Eric

No offense taken, Eric.

Always good to get the opinions of experts. Thanks.
