IWB vs OWB

Is this a personal preferance thing or does one conceal and is more comfortable to wear than the other. I have read post that have stated that the IWB option felt more comfortable yet without wearing one I could almost feel the grip of the handgun digging into my back...

This is a personal thing, but I prefer IWB for concealability and comfort. If I want to just be comfortable than OWB, but have found with my work and all I do it just doesn't stay concealed like it should.

Reason being cover garments that would need to be worn are not appropritate for my work.

I prefer the IWB tuckable type holsters. I can't always have my shirt out and loose so a tuckable holster works best for me. I also think the IWB type afford the best concealment with easy access.

I am in the OWB camp and actually find IWB severely uncomfortable - maybe I do not have enough padding round middle!

Available choice of cover garments is a big factor and that ties in often with work situations. I work from home for self so only really concealing when out - and that's easy.

My rig holds in as tight I reckon as any - so only difference is the part of holster below belt line that shows if uncovered. I'll go OWB any day - and this allows me to have a comfortable carry of the EDC 226 ST.

I carry IWB mostly because it conceals better for me that way. OWB is actually more comfortable for me though.

So, I stick with IWB...and I have found that cross draw works best for my usual carry weapon, a boot-gripped snubby.

I concur with everyone else. I carry both IWB and OWB with higher concealability being with the IWB. If you're going strictly for comfort go with OWB.

I simply don't find IWB comfortable (or even really concealable...if I use a tuckable, it shows a huge lump on my skinny waist), nor do I want pants 2" too big.

It seems to me that the more "concealed" the less "comfort".

Any time you stick something in your waistband, comfort is sacrificed. An IWB holster that's well made, i.e. Milt Sparks VersaMax-II, is a good balance between "conceal ability" and "comfort".

Naturally, an OWB is more comfortable than an IWB.

It all boils down to what's more important to you, more conceal ability or more comfort.
