Question about mag in my pocket

Lately I have been trying to get in the habit bringing a spare mag with me wherever I go. I have tried some different mag holders but don't care for them. I have some on order from sparks along with a holster, but we are still talking six months away. So I have been carrying my spare glock mag in my weak side front pocket. Not in any kind of pocket holster, just a loaded mag. Is this okay, or should I search out a pocket holster?

A pocket holster will keep lint and change from getting lodged in your magazine. Even a baby sock or something similar would be better than just straight in the pocket. I wouldn't want to be in dire need of my second mag only to find out there's a dime wedged between the feed lips.

I usually use a mag holder, but sometimes will take a couple of additional mags (for a WalMart parking lot...) in my front left pocket...I don't see a problem. If I do have a plain (.45) mag in my pocket, nothing else goes in that pocket...

What are some good brands that wouldn't require a long wait time for glock/H&K P2000SK mag holders for on the belt?

Same here, I usually carry a spare mag in the leg pocket of my carpenters jeans or in a belt mounted mag carrier. I routinely check for and clear lint from that pocket and keep nothing else in that pocket if my mag is in there.

In many years of carrying many guns i have never had a pocket mag carrier . Now understand i inspect mags daily and for me pocket litter and pocket treasures ( the other crap i carry ) is not an issue . I have pulled lint ect a couple of times from a mag , but normally that crap gets pulled when i put my pants on and straighten my pockets . YMMV and i would not honestly consicer a pocket mag holster a bad thing to have , but then again i have other things to spend the ducats on .

Comp-tac - get them in a week.
Ready Tactical pouches from SKD Tactical - get them in 2-3 days.

I think the baby sock is a good idea. But if I have the mag in my pocket, there is nothing else in there.

I'm not too big on guns or magazines in a pocket without a proper holster.

I'd find a single magazine pouch that works for you. I have Milt Sparks too but my Galco's work every bit as well!

Kinda shade tree mechanic style, but it works for me ...
The ever popular duct tape (& wax paper liner) pocket mag holder:
