Thumbs up PCS Harpoon for PM9 Review w/ Pics...

I have been carrying my Kahr PM9 for some time now in a Desantis Nemesis. The nemesis has been working out just fine. Though always a sucker for nice leather, I happened to call Lightning Arms on a whim to inquire whether they had any leather pocket holsters in stock for my gun. Turns out they had a Pocket Concealment System HARPOON in Cordovan in stock for a Kahr PM9. Two days later it arrived at my door.

As you can see from the pics, it is a beautifully crafted holster. It required minimum breaking in which consisted of a few draws. It basically had the perfect amount of retention right out of the bag. Has a square bottom with a straight drop configuration and a open muzzle design. It allows for a full grip on the gun and does exactly what a good pocket holster should do...it remains in the pocket when drawing. Looks like wallet when in my pocket. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my spontaneous purchase. Have a look...

I've been carrying my PM9 in the Nemesis for over 3 years now and its been the one holster/gun combo I've actually been quite comfortable carrying for any length of time.

Can you draw quicker with the Harpoon? Does the leather add excess bulk?

After using it for a while do you think the Harpoon is worth the investment as an improvement over the Nemesis?

I feel the same way as you about the Nemesis. That point in the middle of the Harpoon sticks out more than on the Nemesis. I could see this potential being a problem with small pockets. Because of this the Harpoon seems to be more "stable" (i.e. holster stays put when drawing, like it's anchored in my pocket). It really isn't much bulkier and draw time difference is negligible, but may favor the Harpoon because I can get a full grip on the gun without that excess material that the Nemesis has. The Harpoon also does a better job at breaking the gun outline. I would say the Harpoon is great if your looking for leather, otherwise I would just stick with the Nemesis. Both are great holsters. I won't throw my Nemesis out. Take care.

I use a Harpoon for my Rohrbaugh R9s. Great pocket holster, and well-made.

That's a slick looking rig, I wonder if they make it for the Colt Mustang...
