Don Hume is a Super Value

Sometimes finding a holster for a less popular gun is difficult, and that has been a problem for this little S&W.

Previously I've been stuck with nylon for IWB, or contacting one of the custom makers to see if they have the right forms.

Then I found this little beauty on Don Hume's site. I don't even think it has a name, just a number.

I really didn't think I was going to be impressed with a $28.00 holster, but dang!
I've bought holsters for 3 times the price, that were not this nice.

Wore it for a few hours today. After some adjusting and checking in the mirror, found that it works best at 2:00. (I have a little shed built there that keeps it covered)

Very impressed with the workmanship, but shocked at such good value for the price.

I had a Mini Cougar and the only Holster maker offering holster for it was DH. I ordered & arrived in about 10 days, perfect fit, confy and well crafted.
A friend at work was recently looking for a paddle holster for his gun and I recommended DH. He came to my office 2 days ago happy as he could be.

I carry my SA micro compact in a DH 715M holster I had modified at the shoemakers to fit correctly, they make decent products although some of their holsters require a long break in process as they are really tight on the gun. Dollar for dollar they are a great value.

If you are shopping for Hume, www.gunnersalley.com always seems to have a bunch in stock.

I use Hume holsters some and think they are a good but not great value . The leather in hume holsters is either too light or sub standard , i have yet to have one that did not stretch in a year or two resulting in the need for replacement . Understand tho that i am fairly rough on my holsters due to lifestyle . I still pick up hume holsters for everyday use on the ranch where i may well be crawling under/around/into equipment because i dont feel as bad abusing them. Same reason i normally carry a plastic Kahr, takes abuse without a guilt trip .

Just picked up my 1st DH holster like toe one pictured above for a G22. Think I need a belt that is a little tighter. My previous IWB holster was much larger. But I think it will be instant perfection.

I agree that Hume makes a great holster for the money - I have several, all purchased from Brad and Ed at Gunner's Alley. :)

I have several Hume holsters and would agree with this. The holsters work very well and are inexpensive, but the leather used is clearly thinner than used on more expensive leather holsters. So they do not hold up as well over time.

Here is a picture of my USP 45 in a Hume holster. I rarely wear this gun so the holster is fine for occasional use.
