That's kinda what I was thinking. If I were the crossbreed guy, I'd be honored somewhat that a big company like Comp-tac would even consider an idea that I came up with.

On the other hand, the Mtac is getting a LOT of attention.

I am pretty sure it was a Crossbreed idea to begin with. Comp-Tac saw a good idea and jumped on board.

I am just wondering when there will be a UBG version.

I thought it was Tucker Gunleather's "The Answer" - but then again I have no reference for this other than I heard of it first. I remember reading a blurb in American Handgunner about it. I'd never heard of Crossbreed or Comp-Tac until I came to this site.

As I understand it, Tucker made the "Answer" first, with design help from Comp-Tac's head guy, and Comp-Tac supplied the kydex part to Tucker. I don't know if that's still the case or if Tucker now has a different supplier. FWIW, I remember when Tucker first started making the Answer and it had to be at least 5 or 6 years ago, maybe more. I don't know how long the Crossbreed has been around.

Either out of professional courtesy, or maybe just because he had enough on his plate to keep him busy, Comp-Tac didn't offer a similar product for a long time, but just recently decided it was time to get in that market. With typical Comp-Tac results, it seems to be a big hit and the guy at Comp-Tac tells me they've sold a lot more, and a lot faster, than they expected.

In case you didn't know it, Comp-Tac is now offering kydex reinforced leather belts, too.

Chicken or egg?? How about before it was even a glint in their daddy's eye!

Tuckers Answer has been around since mid 2002. Here's the thread where they were originally trying to come up with a name for it. Note the date of the first post.

It's interesting that one of the suggested names for the Tucker holster in that thread was "Crossbreed".

I noticed that too....I guess Minotaur was someone else's idea though. What a weird name!
