I'm just jumping on the bandwagon for extra support here...I carry a 1911 iwb with open top (ie strapless) and have never had my gun fall out of the holster. And I have done forward rolls and backflips with it! A quality holster won't allow your firearm to fall out. I suspect most police agencies are just trying to cover their butts in a liability situation (too many blood sucking lawyers around).

I'd venture they are more concerned about a gun grab than gravity.

I have 3 Max Con V holsters and have absolute confidence that the gun will not fall out. The thought never crosses my mind. I feel that a gymnast could do his whole routine and the gun would be secure.
