Springfield Loaded 5" 1911 holster
I know this question has prolly been posted a million times, but I am having a hard time finding a comfortable IWB holster for my 1911. I bought a ted blocker DA3 thinking it would be a stable platform and comfortable, but I find it digs into my waist.
I am not a big guy, about 5'8" and 180 pounds. I used to carry a hkp2000 .40 in a cheap don hume and I could take naps with that holster on. It was very comfortable. Any advice? thanks, Chris |

The life of a fellow 1911 Carrier. You may have to go with a custom. The only I have for my loaded Springer was made by a guy, who according to SwiftyJuan, moved off the planet.
If he ever makes it back and gets back in the business you will know it.

maybe this question should go out to the holster makers out there, would there be a way to add padding to the blocker holster I have to make it more comfortable?

Only one suggestion, a Sparks' VM2.

versa max 2 is the same style as the blocker. I don't think it would be much different.

I find the Milt Sparks Summer Special 2 very comfortable with my 1911 (5"). Available in stock from Brownells (with discount for LE/Mil or C&R FFL holders).

I have a Texas Heritage for a 4" Springfield that is great for all-day carry. Of course, it does not have the reinforced mouth that some require in a carry rig, but it sure works well for me.

I've got a IWB made by Rhome as well. If he was still in the business, I'd be recommending him to everyone. He did great work. |

Have you looked at Crossbreed Holsters? They are a hybrid holster with a leather backing and kydex body. I have 2 one for my 1911's and it fits all size barrels. I have the Versa max and this is what I wear.
