Has any one tried one of these?

It is a belt with a built-in holster sewed in.

Sure would eliminate threading a holster on and off several times per day.

Can be found with Google search.

I've never tried one so I don't have an opinion on it. It might make things easier for folks who live in states where they quickly have to switch to Open Carry.

I was not sure if it was OK to post a link to a commercial company.

I've used an outside the waistband minimal holster for my Commander for years now and love it. Covers the trigger guard completely and is lightweight.

Lately, I've found myself just slipping my snubby into a pants pocket rather than going through the hassle of threading a holster through belt loops.

No question here that a snubby is good. It's just that a .45 is gooder!

And who knows? Perhaps in no carry situations one could stuff a cell phone in the slot.

I'm sure that someone out here has experience with this rig.

I have one and use it as part of my EDC outfit.
Run a search against my name and 'bandera' for more info and real world user info.

I like it, have suggested it to others, and would buy again.
It works exactly as advertised.

P.S. - I never open carry. The only exception to this has been at IDPA matches, where I also have and do use the Beltster. It wears and works like an OWB slide holster only better because it pulls the sidearm up to your hip very close. As such under garment concealment with it is a cinch.

I wear mine everyday.Not one single person has evered noticed that I was waering a holster. Its very covienent when one has to go unarmed. Just secure the gun in the vehicle, and when you get back in it, just slip the gun back in.

I forgot to mention, I'd learned about it from a series of posts by owners over at SigForum.com where this product along with the SmartCarry is a highly rated alternative holstering system.
Go there and run a search on 'bandera' and you'll likely find many threads on the product from real world users who largely have been happy repeat customers.
When I get an M&P40 I will be ordering a second Beltster specific to it.

As to measured sizing as the product is custom made per user I found in my own case that the fit was dead on. But if your waist size goes up and down in any way with regularity then you might be best to add an inch to your measurement. Reason being when worn with a gun in the holster on my belt I only have two notches available. Fine for me but for those whose waist size varies due to weight or even clothing season to season then you may want to build in some buffer.

Interesting idea but from the pics on the website it looks like the trigger is still exposed. that makes me nervous.

OH,

It's largely covered although to what degreed can vary depending on the height of the belt you choose to have made (two choices) and the size of the trigger guard on your specific sidearm.
With my own 1911s across four different guns in one Beltster half have had a different relative amount of trigger exposed. None though showed enough trigger material to be in any way a problem toward snagging on anything.
The trigger as a whole and to a ~97% degree is not exposed, and that is on the two that have any exposure what so ever.

I have a beltster! I ordered it for my Ruger SR9. I was having trouble finding a holster because of it being so new to the market. I thought the idea was a good one. A holster in the belt, cost a little more but no holster to buy...
When it came I was surprised that it was only one layer of leather. When I tried my SR9 it didn't even come close to fiting. As a mater of fact my Bersa 380 fit better. I sent it back and recieved another one in a short time. It fit better but not just right... A note in the box said " That was as close as he could get it on a 1 1/2 belt" I don't think when you pay over $95. for a belt, it should be the best I can do!!!!!
Now all I can use it for is the Bersa. Or in my holster/belt drawer.
Bottom line!! Order a belt from Nate at UBG for a lot less money and of exelent crafsmanship. Take the extra and order a holster from him too. I have both Belt & Holster made by nate and there is no comparison.....
