I like the second type.
I like the taper, it's something you don't see very often. Square sticks out a little and is obviously something "square", and round has the potential to make the gun fall over in the pocket. That's nice, space-efficient. Where can I get one?

Update with a couple of new holsters that I have built in the last few days.

The first is the "Hook Style" w/no boning on the outside and boned on the inside. This holster was done with the rough side out, and is sure to stay in the pocket.

The next is just a basic pocket holster that I made for my North American Arms Mini in .22mag. The plan is to add a panel to the outside to make it mimic a wallet in the pocket. I've carried this holster in my right front pretty much every waking hour that I am wearing jeans and find it real comfortable and it is always upright in my pocket.

The holster that I ordered from Steve last week arrived in the mail today and I couldn't be more pleased !

Mine was the second style that Steve posted pictures of in this thread.

The fit is perfect and the craftsmanship is second to none. I really like the way it stays in my pocket.... I ordered the rough side out just for that reason.

Shipping was fast and the communication with Steve was first rate.

As old as I am, I've been around guns for a long, long time. I have a BIG drawer full of holsters that I've accumulated over the years, and I've sold off twice that many that did not work for one reason or another. This holster will get a lot of use with my small j-frame airweights !

Based on my experience with Stave, I would recommend him and his holster without reservation.
