I have two Cochise IWB Defenders, so my experience is not exactly what you're looking for. I do want to tell you that the holsters are fantastic. I love the clips, they slide over the belt easy and quick and stay in place. I'm sure you'll be satisfied with your choice.

Or at least, that's what I tell myself.

Oh, very nice. Hard chromed HK P7 has to be one of the sexiest guns out there. Looks good in the holster too.

Thanks for all the input guys, you made my decision easier.

atrophis,

Thanks!
I had wanted a P7M8 for quite literally 2 decades, but had never been able to afford one. I got this one in trade for a USC and could not be happier.

Be sure to tell us what you end up ordering and of course, post pics when you receive it!

Maybe I am mistaken but can't the Cochise Defender be worn OWB as well by switching the clips out? Could be wrong. I have a Maverick Defender coming in a few weeks. I ordered it because I can wear it IWB or OWB (under my belt) and more importantly because of Kevin unique design its cant be can be rotated 360 degrees. So I can adjust it to lay where my hand naturally falls. Anyway those might be options that will work for you. No doubt any holster you get from K&D Holsters will be a premier product.

LR,

Can't the Maverick be worn cross-draw as well as strong-side?
That's one Maverick and Andrews McDaniel II - crossdraw are vying for my next holster purchase.

Had not considered that I was just thinking in terms of the sever cant I like. Almost horizontal, just over my rear right pocket. I can not imagine why it would not be be an excellent choice for cross draw. Take a look at it at Maverick Defender at the bottom of the page. Seems that because of Kevin's design it would be be perfect because you can adjust the cant to match your draw and set you gun so it is not stabbing you. Because it can be worn under your belt you will be able to wear it as snug as you want. Of course the best bet would be to talk to Kevin he is a great guy and more than happy to help out. He'll even refer you to another maker if he knows who can better serve your needs. Something, that really impressed me

I have both the Laredo and Eagle Defenders. The Eagle rides just a bit tighter to the body. However the difference is so slight that it will not make a difference when trying to conceal the weapon. Both are great holsters and you can't go wrong with the Laredo.

I have neither of the holsters that you are asking about, but I have two holsters from K&D and just wanted to say that they are awesome gear. By far, the best I have ever owned!!

Yes, the Maverick can be worn in a cross-draw fashion. It can be worn on the waist from the small of the back area around to the cross-draw side. Our attachment hardware is different from what Sam Andrews uses on his McDaniel II. He uses a star washer, which digs into the leather to hold the belt attachment piece at the desired cant/angle. We had our hardware custom made. It utilizes two pins and a screw that tightens both pieces together. The changing of the cant of the holster is a simple and easy task. It's rock-solid and does not shift on the belt.

I noticed an option for different types of hides on the holster.

Anyone have photos of the different types of hides used on these holsters?
