I've carried my Kahr PM9 that way, and a revolver at times. Of course it's the J-Frame when it's a revolver.

Appendix Carry, A favorite of Bad Guys and Good Guys alike since the 1940's or before. My Brother carried his J-Frame off duty for 30 years that way. It's very quick to get the gun in to action from a concealed carry standpoint.

I don't carry appendix style anymore due to some health issues and what I have located on the front of my stomach now. No, not a colostomy. I have catherter tubing for my pump, which is inserted in to my abdomen, in that area and I don't want to risk pulling it out. Therefore I use a different position for carry.

Good morning Zero, I carry appendix most of the time. Usually a P7 in a Blade Tech "UCH" tuck able, but sometimes a snubbie with Barami hip grip. I switched to appendix carry about 6 months ago, and never looked back. Do a search on http://www.warriortalk.com/ . There is a lot of good info on this method.

appendix carry keeps me concealed the best (excluding one or two deeep concealments) at my part time job, which involves bending over, lifting, reaching overhead, etc. even with a lab coat, 4:00 is risky for me.

I have carried my J Frame appendix for awhile now. Seems to work the best (besides pocket carry) for me. I’m going to have to give the small XD a try there.

BikerRN, Good to hear you’re adapting to all your new plumbing.

Yes. When I'm not using my Smartcarry, I carry my XD9sc appendix IWB. I find a forward cant more comfortable for sitting, with the barrel aiming outside of my leg rather than toward the crotch. Hmmm, maybe that's not true appendix, but it works for me. Much easier to keep from being accidentally discovered at my work than holstering at 3 or 4. And for me, I find it easier to draw than SOB.

J Frame and KelTec P3at mostly carried Appendix, sometimes Pocket and infrequently Crossdraw.

Appendix is fast and secure and works well in my active outdoor life.

I carry a Glock 17/19 or a J-Frame IWB Appendix daily. It works for me, I carry it in one of two holsters. Milt Sparks Summer Special II or a Blade Tech I modified to set at a comfortable cant.

The reason I carry this way concealed is:
Realizing that my chances of a fist/ground fight is more likely than a gun fight, I try to carry everything I can on the center line of my body some where. I can access it from almost every position conceivable, grounded, in the mount, the guard, or well use your imagination.

It is faster for me that strong side IWB.

I can access the gun faster while moving dynamically easier and faster than strong side IWB and still keep my body moving in the direction of travel without having to traverse any part of the upper body which keeps me moving fast.

It helps prevent bump searches, ie.. someone walking up and rubbing the outside of your waist either intentionally or accidentally.

Nice to hear of others that carry appendix for same reasons. I have a High Noon Hideaway with clip for my J Frame. I can angle it just right, so nice. Was thinking about trying the Mr. Softy for my XD.
