P7PSP

Called them about a holster for a HK P7 that I had Tooltech install Trijicon tubes in and then had the piece hard chromed by Tripp Research-stepping down to 9mm from 45ACP was a big deal to me, so I wanted to be sure about the carry.

They put Mitch on the phone; we talked for ten minutes about how I would carry, etc. he talked me out of a more expensive option. Five weeks later I had the belt, holster, and mag carrier.

The belt is the best I have owned; even better than Wilson Combat; the holster fit and more important security is the best.

I had heard his stuff was overpriced and Mitch was a pain, but my experience was great.

BTW, El Paso Saddlery (sic) makes very good stuff at good prices.

Heres MO. Have a Desantis Speed Scabboard OWB for my 3" model 66. Love the thing immensely but is a winter rig as it does not conceal well.
Have a Galco IWB for my model 36. The retention clip is directly above the cylinder which makes it bulge and with the short barrel it has a tendencey to try and ride up

Also have one of Eric Larsens IWB holsters for my full size 1911. Definately a step up in quality and conceals that big .45 like you would not believe. It's also extremely comortable.
If you are going IWB I recommend you take Erics advice and buy a holster that does not have the belt loops directly on top of the weapon.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Roger

Kman.....I too love the platform. I dont own one....but steal my fathers on occasion. The last time I borrowed it, I had it for 18 months. I hate not having molds available with the safety in the on position....Ive thought of altering my Kimbers/Colts/Springfield dummy's with a real safety...but havent gotten to it.

Thanks Sporty....I appreciate the kind words.

Shoot well and god bless

Dummy guns

Hi Eric.

I saw that you wished you had a dummy with the safety in the on position. Ring's will sell you a Springfield 1911a1 dummy in the cocked and locked configuration if you tell them you make holsters. Also, do you ever buy from Duncan's Customs? I have a 1991a1 c&l and a Smith & Wesson Rail Series I got from them that have the safeties up. It's a pain in the butt to clean up the duncan models but at least they're aluminum. I don't mean to stick my nose in your business, I just thought this might help.

Ive got one on order from Rings and Johns company are very good people to work with.
Duncans quality has gone to )#(* over the last 4-5 years and honestly, I try to not order from them unless I have to. (meaning, like you, I have to clean up alot of stuff on the guns!)

I always appreciate anothers perspective........Shoot well and god bless

BTW..nice looking belt slide holsters........... :D
