Interesting pocket "holster"?

You don't see these too often. I wonder when Pachmayr stopped making them? They will fit in a pants pocket, but I think it may be best suited for a jacket pocket. I think they look cool, but not for real life use. A fun conversation piece though. BTW, the gun is my Smith 649 no dash. One of my favorites. Scott in Philly.

Thats interesting. It looks like it is made so it can be fired with it attached. If you had it in a jacket pocket you could fire it without taking it out of the pocket.

It doesn't cover the trigger, so I am guessing some sort of liability concern is why we don't see them. Pretty cool idea though.

Yes it is definitely attached to the gun, in fact it replaces the gun's grip with it's own built in plastic ones. It can easily be fired (never tried) from this setup.-Scott.

Interesting design as a collectable or conversation piece.

As for practicality... You won't lose your spare ammo, but I feel performing your reload would be slow and cumbersome.

Not exactly as expedient as doing a proper revolver speed reload utilizing "economy of movement."

Is that thing clear of the ATF's AOW laws? Seems I remember something about wallet holsters where the firearm could be fired while in the holster that the ATF had a fit about. Perhaps that's why they aren't made any longer?

I have no idea if this falls into that category, but it looks to me like it might...

Wouldn't the Ammo [shells] have a propensity to unsnap and fall out out of the enclosure as the weapon is subjected to snappy violent recoil as it's discharged....?

The problem with wallet holster was they completely disguised the look of the gun AND they could be fired without removing them from the holster.

With one of the ones pictured installed, there is no doubt it is a gun.

Not if you use superglue!
