M-TAC - Full or Slide version
I've seen a lot of comparisons between the MTAC and other holsters, how about the two different kinds of MTACs? The two other similar models (from Crossbreed & Tucker) both use a "slide" (i.e., non-enclosed) kydex shell. What is the advantage to the full shell? BTW, from the pictures, CompTacs slide version seems to cover more of the gun than the other two models, so it is almost a cross between those and the full version.

The comptac only curves over the end. Most of the end is still open.

Thanks. I suppose there is some advantage to having the end of the pistol covered - as far as avoiding wear on the inside of my pants.

The purpose of the slide version is if you have the same gun style in different lengths, IE a 5", 4" and 3" 1911, you can use the same holster.
Personally, I like having the complete slide covered, a hot or freezing cold muzzle is not something I want to have IWB. |
