Try a paddle holster. The weight is carried by the belt and the pants. They might not ride quite as close as other OWB holsters but, for me, they are the most comfortable. They are not all the same, some are good, some not so.

I wore my 40 OWB all day today on the motorcycle and I am tired. I took it off as soon as I walked in the door. My only IWB is a Bianchi for my 1911 commander and it is usually a welcome change.

I think I'm going to get the added stiffener in my next gun belt.

wow and i thought i just got a bad holster.
an uncle mikes owb concealment paddle holster for my SW5906. though im sure im not doing something richt as it was always breaking my belt loops as i was removing it(weapon removed, and pulling outward on the holster to disengage the "hooks" from my belt) im much mor comfortable with my uncle mikes iwb holster i got for my 1911.

OWB is way more comfortable for me, but I have to wear IWB because I can't keep the bottom of the holster from showing, even when wearing larger shirts for a longer shirt tail.

I tried OWB with a few different guns, just doesn't work for me. In addition to the weight being uncomfortable pulling on the outside of the belt as mentioned, I have to fight to draw the gun too much, haven't found any as smooth as IWB. I also don't like that the gun sticks out farther, don't conceal as well on me, but I am a skinny bastid.
