LOL I haven't been called "captain" for a good many years. I did a double take. You were talking to me about Leather Lightning, right?

What it seems to do is to take the rough side of the leather holster and tamp it down, sort of fuse it together into a single smooth surface which allows the steel to be withdrawn smoothly. It will darken the inside of the holster. It will NOT damage the leather in any way, nor will it harm the gun.

Sounds like a little will go a long way. Should we all as a group buy a bottle and pass it around?

[QUOTE=Mtbiker;599981]The finish on a carry gun will wear......

get over it!

QUOTE]

Mine take such a beating, I would oil it down every day (sometimes twice!) and "wash"it down with blueing every time I cleaned it, but still had that brown rust appear on it. I live in Central Texas, and carry IWB all day, every day, even while working at the farm, so I often have to "open" up the gun to blow the sweat out with spray cleaner and canned air (like the computor-cleaning stuff).
Finally, I decided to try something - Wheeler's Cerama-Coat - and am just now finding wear spots on the sharp edges after more than a year. This stuff made such a difference on my steel 1911 that I refinished my PF-9 with it within a week of acquisition, and plan buying some more for later. It wears like iron(?), and is very easy on/in the holsters too.
Looks good, too - especially on the polymer-framed PF-9; the black color and texture are an almost perfect match, so the gun looks better now than it did new!

Stay safe,

Chuck Brick.

I picked up a Kramer IWB holster for my Baby Eagle and it was very tight. I used Walmart bags wrapped around the gun and kept putting more and more on it until it reached the point where I could draw it easily. The thin plastic is quite tough and each day I could stick the gun in further until after 1 week it was just right. I also didn't end up with a bunch of wear on the metal.

I normally carry a Sig Pro .40 in a Crossbreed SuperTuck. My wife carries a Walther PPS .40 w/Crossbreed holster.
I've also got a Baby Eagle .40 W/Kramer holster

Kramer's thin horsehide is a wonderful product! It doesn't take much to get a great fit. They wear like kydex, with the comfort of leather.

Galco does recommend their own product called DRAW EZ. I've used it on many holsters and it works fine.

You need to realize the holster should grip the pistol quite well. Do not over do the break in. A little adjustment goes a long way. Usually a few strips of paper or the baggie deal will work over night. Combine with the DRAW EZ and you'll have a sweet drawing holster in no time.

Jealousy is such an ugly emotion! You be lucky! Maybe mine are up soon!

I've used the one layer of wax paper trick - worked well.
