At one time, I think Blackhawk made a holster that was worn in the center of your chest - I can't remember what they designed it for specifically, but when I saw it, I thought of bicycle riding. Might be worth a look if you don't want anything on your waist.

The fannypack/beltpack is perfect for this. As has been posted already, it will fit in perfectly on a bike.

Yeah, the model is the Sahara Strider. I'm not sure where the best place to get it if you are interested is, but from a quick search here is what it looks like:

They also make a full-sized Camelbak CCW model, or at least used to. Would look more natural among most of the people I MTB with for sure, and you could use it to carry all the usual essentials in one fell swoop.

Also might look at Survival Sheath chest rigs (although it'd be ugly in a flat crash, in many years of downhilling, I never crashed onto my ribs).

I would go with a fanny pack designed to carry a handgun, such as something like this one. There are numerous ones out there, here's a selection.

That's the way I'd do it.

The other camelback is called the Demon. I use one for bicycling and day hiking. It is well made and the handgun is absolutely undetectable. I have the Goblin, also, but I prefer the feel of having the weight on my shoulders instead of my waist.
