Talking New UBG Holster (I'm so spoiled) ~ More Pics Added

So, JD and I came home from watching Rambo part 1,435,624 and there at the foot of our door was sitting THE BOX.

JD, being the wonderful, caring, attentive, adoring man that he is, listened to my desires for an OWB holster I could put on and take off without removing my belt and ordered me "the regulator" from UBG.

My initial impression with this holster?

OOOOOOOHHHHHH.. PREEETTY!

I THINK (note: I said "think") that the body of the holster is horse with shark trim. The belt loops are also reinforced shark.

One of the things that is paramount in concealed carry is the ability of one's holster to hold the firearm as closely to the body as possible. I was told not expect greatness from this holster in that respect, but I'm very impressed with how close and snug the holster holds Wilson to my body.

I'm also SUPREMELY impressed with how evenly the weight of my 44.3 ounce gun (36.1 oz empty, but who carries an empty gun?) is distributed making it a very comfortable carrying experience.

While the holster is still a little tight due to its newness, it still has a great cant for carry just behind the hip and on/off is as easy as two snaps that are extremely tight and hold very well.

Nate (of UBG) was kind enough to modify the sweat guard by making it shorter than some of the other holsters I have seen and/or carry and I'm pleased with the result. I have often used the sweat guard on some of my other 1911 holsters as a place to orient my thumb while drawing and the act of pushing on the sweat guard naturally flows into pressing against the thumb safety as the gun slides from the holster. With the sweat guard lower to the actual safety my thumb does not feel so stretched and my draw is comfortable with all fingers where they should be.

I haven't had the opportunity to run around and do hand-stands with this holster but I have confidence that it will hold up nicely.

The "wings" (for lack of a better word) of the holster curve nicely around my tiny body to make for a very tight, flexible and supportive carry and I don't believe Wilson has ever felt lighter on my waist than with this holster.

Nate was very accommodating making all of my desires realities in this holster.

The price was VERY reasonable for such a fine crafted holster and seeing as how JD placed the order on New Year's Day the wait time was exceptional at just 26 days from order to delivery.

Thanks to Nate for a fine holster! It will certainly be my top go-to OWB holster.

And of course, this thread would be worthless without pictures so here you go...

Congrats, guys! It's good to see that you're still carryin' a real gun instead of that Tupperware you got for Christmas!

Thumbs up Holy Smokes That Sure Is Exemplary Looking Lima!

That certainly is a magnificent looking leather rig that Nate of UBG Holsters made for you Lima.
I absolutely love the shark~skin trim.

You certainly did end up selecting a fabulous custom holster maker for yourself.

Nate has the unique ability to craft a holster every bit as nice looking (and as uniquely special} as the firearm you are carrying in it.

Congratulations on your fine new rig Master Crafted by Nate of UBG.
He did a splendid job for you on a holster that you can really wear with pride.

QKShooter,

C'mon, man! If you're going to do a shameless promotion, at least give Nate's website. Click here.

Did I mention, I'm also a happy UBG owner?

Well, all I can say is, I won't hesitate to order from Nate again in the future. I couldn't be happier with this rig, Lima likes it and it's one of the best rigs I've laid hands on.

Sorry, I honestly didn't mean to come across as being any sort of shameless promoter.

I am just a long time appreciator of finely crafted leather for firearms.
I always have been for years.

I just honestly happen to love the way Nate makes his gun skins and I tend to get a bit vocal whenever I see a nice leather rig that really grabs me.
