Unplanned holster test today.

I went to Harbor Freight this morning to pick up an arbor press, stepped out of the truck, right onto black ice. Before I knew it, I was on my side. More specifically, on my full size 1911. After the unexpected 220 pound impact test, holster and gun are no worse for the wear. My hip sort of hurts though.

Glad your 1911 survived the fall...... they are rugged but don't provide much cushion. Take two asprin and go to the range tomorrow. You will be sore but have a smile on your face.

Glad you passed the test.
I do that all the time, and I don't need ice to accomplish the testing. I trip over rugs, steps, small rocks, etc., my wife finds it amusing...
I'm glad I can provide her with the humor!

Hope you continue to do well, but I bet you will be sore tomorrow. As much as we hate to hurt our guns, I would rather buy another gun than break a hip.

Best,
Jerry

What is black ice? Just kidding, even if I am about as Floridian as they come, I've "heard" of it.

Hmmm. Never saw black ice mentioned in any gun retention class.

As a retired chiropractor, I would suggest you visit one. This is what I used to treat all day long. People slip and fall and hurt their back. Usually see them several days after the fall when things start to get bad.

Take care. Hope everything heals well.
