Full size P220 IWB options

My Glocks are taken care of for summertime carry. Like to explore options for my full size P220. As usual, I've been searching the vast internet. I'd like those who have had experience carrying IWB the full size SIG. The C-Tac has peaked my interest as I think I'll need the forward cant due to my girth or lack thereof front to back, and this holster seems to have many adjustments. I haven't ruled out the Cross-breed either. Thanks for your opinions.

I carried mine in a Versa Max II, I had no complaints on it.

CTAC or MTAC. I carry my 226 in an MTAC. Very, very comfortable.

Re-holstering is a bit easier in the CTAC. I have a CTAC for my M&P 9c, and it is only slightly less comfortable than the MTAC.

Whatever rig you decide on...make sure it sports a skin guard. Something about that SIG rear sight likes to burrow into skin tissue.

Yeah--I have no preference concerning leather or kydex. I've never used a holster with the snap over belt retention. Also--alot of holsters I've researched on the internet won't show the back side as to full coverage between body and pistol. Thanks

I have a VersaMax-II holster for every CCW I own. I carry a P-220R Carry and a P-220R Elite Carry Stainless as well as 1911's.

I believe the VM-II is the "Gold Standard" of IWB holsters.

I like my Galico Sky Ops for my P220 IWB holster. Easy to wear, your shirt tucks nicely so even my wife does not know I am carrying unless I bump into her or I get my once a week hug. Of course...it is slow to get your pistol out and a pain to get your pistol back in but works well, does not dig in my fat waist and you do not see the hooks unless you are real close.

Try a TT gunleather IWB. Although I havent gotten my approval letter yet I have been wearing one with my P 220 SAS around the house to get used to it and must say this is one comfortable holster.

When I had my P220, I had a VMII and a Concealco. I used the Concealco a lot more due to it being thinner and the front loop was slightly more comfortable for me. I'd also look at a UBG Canute, have one of those for my P228.

I use a Crossbreed, but in all honesty, I don't think there's a knat's breath worth of difference in comfort or function between it and the MTAC. Very comfortable design. Great retention. Multiple mounting options, my favorite of which are the V-Clips (Velcro), which are as stealthy as any IWB holster that is attached to a belt on the market today. Both companies make at least three mounting systems, and both make the V-Clips. I bought the CB only because it was a few bucks cheaper and I bought it during the Christmas season when they had a 10% discount, which basically covered shipping. Comp-Tac wasn't offering any holiday specials, or at least I wasn't made aware of them if they were, so I got the Crossbreed, but I have no doubt whatsoever that I'd have been just as happy with the MTAC.

I also have an all-Kydex holster from Raven Concealment Specialists. There's lots of Kydex holsters out there, but these guys came up with a great idea, make 'em modular. So when you buy one of their holsters, you're getting an IWB, a belt slide and a pancake holster. I know they make 'em for the Sig 220 because I have to buy my holsters made for that gun because almost no holsters are made for mine, and that one has been a perfect fit for every holster I've bought so far, including the Raven.

I'm a leather freak, but I decided if I was going to buy more all-leather holsters, I'd step up into the custom category. I can't see waiting 6 months though.....really, I don't think I'm patient enough to wait 6 weeks, but the Crossbreed and the Raven were both here in under two weeks. Can't complain about that!
