Does an IWB holster exist for effective CCW in dress clothes?
Friends-
I have tried to do my homework before I ask this question. I've Googled, and read past posts, but still I need to ask your opinions about a holster. One that truly conceals with a tucked-in shirt. I have a Kimber Pro CDP II and need an IWB for true concealment. I wear a dress shirt and a tie every day, tucked in, with no coat or other garment. None of the holsters I've seen look like they will go unnoticed. Aker had a good one, with a belt loop that I could hang a key fob or watch from to cover-up the loop, but I think they no longer carry this. Any suggestions? The Smartcarry does not appeal to me. Perhaps I need to go with a fannypack or a nice CCW portfolio or briefcase? I'd really prefer a holster, though. Thanks EP |

Look at Comp-Tac holsters, they offer several tuckable holsters. You can order them with velcro clips as well if the loops over your belt are your concern.

I agree. I have an MTAC and it is very concealable.

With the MTAC, you can get the velcro "clips" that are pretty much invisible. You'd just have to get velcro sewn on your belt or order one that way.

Check out Tucker Gunleather. I have one of their IWB hosters for a Kahr Arms P9, a Springfield 1911 A1, and a Beretta 92FS. All great hosters.

Comp-Tac plus smaller gun
I would second the suggestion for a tuckable holster from Comp-Tac. They make some nice ones.
But I would also recommend a smaller gun for tuckable use with a dress shirt than your Kimber Pro. I have a Kimber Pro, and while it is nice and flat with thin grip panels, the grip length makes it tough to conceal. If you want to stick with a 1911, a gun with Officer's length grip is less likely to print, as it is 1/2 inch shorter than your Kimber's grip. But I think the best choice for your application is an even smaller gun with a "two finger" grip, such as a Kahr MK9 9mm or Walther PPK .380. I own both of these and they lend themselves to IWB tuckable carry because of their flat profiles and short grips. Here is my MK9 in a Comp-Tac 2 o'clock tuckable holster made for appendix carry: ![]() ![]()

In dress clothes I had to go with a Kel-Tec PF9.

When I wear a suit, I still carry a 5" steel 1911, in a Brommeland Max Con V, and it's invisible, even with my jacket off. It doesn't have to be a "Tuckable" to be tuckable, if you're crafty.
