The title says it all how well does this holster work comfortable carry/effective concealment of a s&w k-frame 2"? Does this rig hold the gun high and close to the body? Thanks for any help guys.

Used to carry a K frame in a speed master and it did good job of keeping the butt tucked against my side. Don't carry it much anymore, it's more of a safe queen these days.

I do carry a 642 in one, every now and then these days. Usually under a light jacket, or when driving for extended trips.

Oldtxcop would you saying I need a light jacket to conceal this rig? Or would a polo/Tshirt work well for this?

I bought a Speedmaster for my 2-1/2" L frame. I didn't like it as the gun rode too high and felt top heavy. The butt seemed to flare out too. The Speedmaster now sits in a box with a number of other holsters that I find less than satisfactory. I replaced the Speedmaster with a holster from FIST that works very well for me. On the other hand, I have a Galco Combat Master that I use for my Beretta Brigadier that I like very much.

Alternative to Galco Speedmaster - PWL

I have a 2 inch K frame, a model 66, and often carry it in a holster similar to the Galco Speedmaster called the Price Western Leather (PWL) model 120TS. This holster, made in England but distributed by the US company in Atlanta, is one of the best revolver holsters I have used. It holds the gun high and tight, pulling the butt firmly into my side. I can wear it with a tee shirt cover garment without printing problems. The leather is thick and of excellent quality.
