As stated above, Nate @ UBG, he seems to have the best prices and turn around time. My wife has a UBG regulator and it truly makes her 1911 almost disappear. I can't guarantee that it will conceal your XD as effectively, as guaranteeing that any holster and gun combo can do "X" is kind of silly in my book, but I'd say it's a step in the right direction.

Regarding IWB, this is usually the most effective method of concealment, even though you can cut down on some of the experimentation through asking for member insight, but I think you should at least try and IWB. I don't need to buy pants any bigger, I tried that when I first started carrying and when I wasn't carrying my pants would be falling down, or were bunched up at the waist, I then started carrying in my normal size pants and believe it or not, I didn't have any issue, then again, this is with a 1911 which is pretty slim, but the point I'm trying to illustrate is that it just might work with your regular size jeans.

Even with the help of this forum, you still might end up with a holster drawer, might as well have a drawer full of quality holsters and I'd definitely give an IWB a try before swearing it off.

There are a ton of great holster makers on this forum who can make what you are looking for, prices are extremely competitive, and turn around times are pretty great.

Check out the Eagle Defender or the Laredo Defender from K&D Holsters K&D Holsters | Custom Gun Leather and Shooting Accessories I have the Laredo for my Glock 22 and the Eagle for my XD45 compact. Can't go wrong with either holster.

His work looks great... you can contact him via PM or his email address and he'll get back to you. He seems to be a very friendly fellow... I hope to have some of his gunleather once he's got some with retention devices.

I carry a H&K USPc IWB and didn't have to change sizes. The H&K has got to be close to one of the thickest out there. I think you will need a good IWB and OWB. Like JD said you will end up with a drawer full of holsters, but that's a good thing since no one holster can cover every situation. Just start with quality and you can't go wrong, Brock( Bluegrass),Nate(UBG), Alex(High Noon) plus many more. Find one you like, and if you end up not liking it there pretty easy to sell slightly used with no wait. Good luck

I'm slim too and I have found that for me the CompTac CTAC is the way to go. I have heard rave reviews of the MTAC and I think I may try that one.
I tried a CompTac 2 o'clock but appendix won't work for me either. You can return any holster that doesn't fit you right, CompTac is the best!

P.S. I don't oversize my pants, maybe 1 inch if I do. Heck, Goodwill sells jeans for 7 bucks.

I went to college when I was a deputy.. Due to conceal ability being number one issue, I only used IWB.

And later on purchased a pocket pistol.

Oh, and I did not purchase larger pants, just carried the 45 combat commander at about 5 O clock.

thanks for the post...you beat me to it! Once I open my eyes in the morning I am pretty cheerful....not so much before that!

I will soon be starting on the retention design....for those that want one hang on....it will be coming. Already have a name for it...just like a mother naming her baby before they are born! It will be called the Ft. Knox.
