So, a general question to anyone who has one (or anyone who has a horsehide belt similar to that): do 1.5" horsehide belts eventually conform to your body? I'm leery of the "solid inflexible loop around your body" effect as described by an earlier poster. Is tapered better in this case? |

Yes, a horsehide belt will conform after a while, but well worth it. Almost indestructable.

I recently got one of Comp-Tachs kevlar inserted belts and it is great. Absolutely love it 75.00 and had it in a week.

Try these folks. I have a couple of belts in shark from the last DFW gun show and they have been great. Good folks.

After all of the good things I've read/heard about them, I'm waiting on an 1.25" black elephant belt from The Beltman. Great people to deal with and very helpful. I was going to go with a 1.5" but I'm concerned it would look too big on my 5'9" frame and would easily be spotted as a gun belt. I'm trying to stay as concealed as possible and still have a nice, quality casual belt. I usually only use pocket holsters anyway and if I do go IWB, it will be with compacts (PM9 mostly, maybe a G29 later).

As for the Wilderness, if you don't mind something that doesn't look like a dress belt, it's plenty good enough. I got the Combat Shooter's Model with the plastic insert; it is a little less conforming that the 2-layer bullhide, but not bad.
