HBE pancake holster?

Any opinions or comments from folks who have one? I am thinking about ordering one for my fullsize 1911. I see on the HBE site Eric offers high, medium, and low ride, what ride height and cant do you guys usually go for or recommend. The cant on my Milt Sparks VMII is pretty good, anyone know what the degree is? This holster would be for strictly concealed use.
Thanks for any info

Here's one I believe is a medium ride. The cant is a little more extreme than my 15 degree Tucker I can compare it to. The workmanship is tremendous. The sharkskin trim holds the mouth open and eliminates the need for additional bands.

Eric makes an awesome product. He had some bad luck in the past but was very open with it and I'm glad to see he is back on his feet. I have several of his holsters and mag pouches and they are all top of the line!

Thumbs up

Had one that was a medium ride for a CZ-75. Sold it with the gun. Not big on OWB's for CC except for cold wx but the holster rode tight. Your holster will last for many years. HBE (Eric) makes an outstanding product and I'm glad he's doing better.

I have a Classic Pancake for my G17. Medium ride seems fine. You'll regret a high ride holster for a full size gun -- high ride is meant for smaller guns.

On Eric's advice I went with a 18 degree cant; he touts a lot of cant for a full size gun. I have to say I like it that way for a G17.

I would just give him a call, Eric is a great guy and easy to talk with tell him what you are looking for and he will make it happen and you will be very happy with his work, IMO Eric puts the word custom back into custom leather holsters.

Thanks to everyone for sharing your advice and experience. It definitely helped my decision. I called Eric today and ordered a holster. Very nice guy and he explained alot about the difference in the cants and heights. Hopefully the next 6-10 weeks goes by fast and I will be able to share some photos. Thanks again, and if you guys have anymore HBE photos to hold me over till mine gets here post away!

Bowie, Here is my HBE COM III for my 5" Springer. This an older pic but it is a quality holster that will last a long time, just as your pancake will.
