What do you keep you're Colt Detective in?
I'm at present using a 'floppy' DeSantis holster for inside carry. I have a VMII for my 4" Kimber. Anyone got one for a dick special? Any other good IWB for that little snubbie?

I have a Kramer Horsehide Belt Scabbard, Alessi Scabbard and a AKJ Concealco IWB for my Cobra and Combat Cobra (357). The Concealco is a great rig, very comfortable and flat, ambidexterous, great price and quick delivery.

I'm leaning towards inside......
I feel more better if it's really hidden. I get better concealing from an inside holster. Again, my preference and it depends on my dress. Normally casual, jeans and a pullover. Sometimes with a short sweater, you can see the holster (if it's on the belt). Too many tree huggers around.....need it hid. ![]()

Pocker carry works great. Just slip it in your pocket and off you go. With a Mika pocket holster, no printing and holster stays in pocket on the draw. I have found it to be the most convenient way to carry a snub nosedrevolver.

I am sorry for this post but I have to say it: "I keep my Colt Detective Special in someone else's possession." Why? Years ago someone broke into my apartment and stole the revolver. Did this Dick Special have a special meaning to me? Yes, it was the last duty handgun issued to my father. Regards, Richard

I carry mine IWB in a Bianchi model 100. I picked this one up at the gun show when I bought the revolver, thinking it would be a stopgap, until I could acquire a custom holster.
Since then, I've 1) found out that most current custom makers don't produce holsters for the Detective Special, and 2) the Bianchi works great. At first, I didn't like it because it wouldn't maintain its shape enough to easily holster the weapon one-handed, but I've since learned to just put the revolver in the holster before putting it on. It slides right on and the belt clip keeps it quite secure. It's also quite convenient, because I can take off the holster (w/ weapon) without disrobing. I figure that re-holstering one-handed is really not that much of an issue. This isn't a competition rig. If I ever have to draw this weapon in need, reholstering will be the last thing I'll have to worry about. The Bianchi Model 6 is also made for the Dick Special, and is a very flexible suede. I like the Model 100 for a little bit more structure. Bianchi's models are definitely worth consideration for a readily available, production holster, in the $45-$50 range.

My safe.
Occasionally the nightstand. The bluing is too pretty to carry. It's a shame, the trigger is AMAZING.
