Need holster for Galco shoulder rig
For many years I have owned a Galco, I believe it is an SS2, shoulder rig. It is marked Lg Fr Auto, and has the off side double mag pouch for single stack mags. Although it obviously not for a 1911, it will hold one. It is not a good fit and with the thumb snap over the slide of a cocked & locked 1911, I can work the gun out of the holster without opening the thumbsnap. I don't think the gun would fall out under normal use, but it's still not acceptable to me. I could buy a new Galco holster for it, but as I understand, Galco 1911 holsters are made for hammer down carry. This is also unacceptable. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good cocked and locked carry holster that will fit the Galco harness ?

They are available for a full size Colt 1911.
No retention strap at all. They have the "pull through" snap in the location of the front of the trigger guard. You just tug the firearm - the trigger guard unsnaps the snap and the gun is out - in your hand and ready for presentation. It's a retention system designed by Lou Alessi that works incredibly well. ![]() |

I have one of the pull throughs for 1911. I was a little concerned at first even knowing Lou's reputation. After getting it I love it. I think it is the best shoulder rig out there.

Gunbelt, suspenders, AND a shoulder holster. Longtooth isn't letting those britches fall for nothin!

I have a holster made by Lou and he is an excellent craftsman. However, I have no problem with a thumbsnap shoulder holster and prefer it.
