I did a bunch of research on both before I settled on the MTAC. I am very pleased with it. It is my EDC holster.

I do not see any advantage in the above picture to the C clips as far as concealability. In fact, it appears to make them more noticeable. I have worn my standard clips with a dress shirt and nobody has ever said anything...but then again, who would think I was carrying.

I talked with Tucker's rep. IIRC Tucker and MTAC were working together when MTAC decided to split off and produce their own. Created some bad blood. According to the rep, Tucker still makes a version of it and is ostensively a quantum leap better in quality. I have one on order but it is 5 months out. My MTAC was delivered within a week.

The Crossbreed does not do that...
That is simply NOT true. The MTAC is a kydex body on leather backing. Neither holster collapses. It can't collapse. It's KYDEX.

I have no issues reholstering with my M-tac and M&P's...

Had to play around with where the clips were bolted on to get it just right, but I figured that unless I was one VERY lucky individual (let's face it, I am not) then any holster would require some tweaking...

But the one thing I can say is... I have bought a second MTac for my XD40, and with it I got the standard clips, and an extra set of standard clips for my original holster. I DO NOT like the j-hooks and would not recommend them to anyone. YMMV

I prefer my Crossbreed over my MTAC. The MTAC is prettier but the Crossbreed is more comfortable for me. My 5" 1911 digs into my side when I use my MTAC holster. The wider leather of the Crossbread holster prevents protects me from the edges of the gun. My 1911 in the MTAC will rotate forward and back while in the holster. This may be caused by the rubber mounting system of the plastic to the leather.

I like your belt. Where did you get it?

I was going to order one of these MTACs, but they don't seem to make it for the PT111. Crossbreed does. So im in luck there, I hope its worth it.

Crossbreed will give you a two week tial - nothing to lose. Most will know the first two weeks if it suits them or not.

I have the MTAC for my P229 and I love it. The P229 is a double stack .40S&W so it is a little wide. I use the standard clips. I ordered the V clips andhaven't even tried them yet. The J-clips are hard to notice if you don't know what they are. For one of us, we might be able to see them, but who's really looking anyway? I wanted it for my 1911 (Sig GSR) but they don't make them yet.

At first, the Crossbreed is a bit stiff. Wear it for a couple hot days and it breaks in just like your favorite shoes. The extra leather compared to the MTAC (which I also have) keeps the grip off the skin a bit more.

If you wear a T-shirt under the holster, either is fine. If you don't, go with the Crossbreed. You won't be unhappy with either, just maybe happier with one.

(I carry a HK P2000sk with the longer 10-rd X-grip, same length as USPc or P2000.)
