Talking Carry options

Today I wore a Crossbreed Super Tuck carrying a Hi-Power. One T-shirt tucked in and another dark t-shirt over the first t-shirt. This worked very well. Went to an indoor range, shot 150+ rounds. Had lunch at Speedy Gondolas, and browsed for the perfect pistol at Lashes' Gun Emporium. If anybody did see any indication I was carrying no one said a word. The Crossbreed hides pistols very well and is able to carry a pistol all day in comfort. Oh I was wearing a new Crossbreed gun belt, it makes a difference.

Edited

I don't have a MTAC holster, but I do have a CTAC. Both holsters are very good holsters, I give a slight edge for comfort to the Crossbreed.

Crossbreed is cheaper--on the short term, but, you have to purchase a new holster for each gun you own. The other company starts out higher but then sell's the shell for each gun you own to change yourself. and once the holster is broke-in it's probally more comfortable.

Unhappy Luv Handles and IWB Holsters

I have tried out an IWB holster that has a single belt clip and plan on returning it. After struggling to find a location that felt safe and comfortable I have come to the conclusion that my body structure and this form of IWB holster are not compatible. I just could not find a location that felt comfortable standing and sitting. Also, I had problems with the holster moving around (slanting forward and backwards). Further, trying to tuck in my shirt and adjust the holster was just scary (one time the holster tumbled over and the PM 9 would have dropped out had it not had a snug fit - yes I was practicing unloaded). I guess I need to work on getting my stomach and luv handles down! This was my first try at an IWB holster and was, for me, a most frustrating and disappointing experience.

I was going to try something like the Crossbreed, but now wonder if I will have the same problem? It has two belt clips so it should be more stable. For those non-flat-belly and more mature wearers, do you have any problems sitting down? How do you safely get the holster on and the shirt tucked in without everything falling out?

Not meaning to be indelicate, but how does one handle the weapon if one must sit on a toilet?

I know Crossbreed/MTAC have generous return policies, but I hate having to return things ...

Any advice, please.

Thanks

Mike

Mike,
You are right on the money with the problems with a single clip design. The shifting does stop with two clips and it distributes the weight of the gun out so it will feel lighter and therefore more comfortable. I have a couple of the Crossbreed Supertucks and they are really nice. Good Luck

I have a CTAC (C-clips) and ordered an MTAC (standard clips) Jul 9 and received it today. The leather is more comfortable than the kydex; the force to draw or reholster is slightly more on the MTAC because the hip causes the leather to curve into the space where the pistol fits, but it's not a significant difference. One-hand holstering is still fairly easy.

I am trying a belly band Defender holster from Active Pro Gear (for medium and small weapons, i.e., Kahr PM9). It is just an inexpensive stretch belt/holster I thought I would try to see how comfortable I would be with an IWB holster design. Thus far it has been convenient and comfortable. It is very easy on and off and very adjustable.

It makes me wonder if some tuckable IWB holsters would be better off with a separate inside belt? It seems like it might be much more manageable to have something like the MTAC have its own flexible belt worn under the shirt??

order the Mtac for the XD9SC

and it will fit the PT111. I use the same holster for the XD, Pt145 and the 24/7C pro.
no problems.

MIchael!!!!!

j/k

Fasten your belt using the last hole and it will support the gun/holster.

I've only had my Spartan for 2 days (received it 10 days from order date including a holiday ), but have worn it all day both days - very comfortable and only notice the gun not the holster. I got the Spartan over the MTAC b/c I figured less material would be thinner.

Easiest way to tuck I've found so far is pants up unzipped, feed belt thru back clip, put holster in pants with clips over pants, feed belt thru front clip, adjust, tuck shirt in pants, then into holster (in front of gun and behind clips) while pants are still loose, fasten pants/belt, and then blouse shirt. Anyone got a better system?

I have both MTAC and Crossbreed. I prefer the Crossbreed. The kydex and leather seem thinner resulting in a more comfy wear. The clips are wider and the leather backing is wider. It feels more secure and better supported to me. When the Crossbreed wears out, I may give the MTAC another try, but for now, my Glock 30 will ride in the Crossbreed.
