Dye staining clothes

I just got a speed strip holder (black, goes on belt) & it's staining several pants/shorts that I've worn. Is there an easy way to make this stop?

Buy a spray can of clear acrylic spray lacquer and spray the back.
That will permanently seal the dye and keep it from bleeding.

QK is right or you could always send it back.

Stupid question - Is that the same as acrylic sealer? As you can see, I know nothing about making holsters or leather for that matter.

I am pretty sure that it is the same. I will keep this post in mind if I ever experience the same problem with any of my pocket holsters.

I emailed the maker & he asked me to send it back to fix the problem.

Just for info, clear lacquer spray paint from the home store works to stop this. Or buy a spray can of shellac if the clear paint isn't available. (get it at the home store or the craft store).

That is the best solution.

Acrylic sealer, you can get it at Hobby Lobby, Michaels Crafts, etc...

From one of my holster exploits...

The white bottle is the sealer. I dyed a natural holster black and sealed, so far so good. If you can get the maker to fix, that is always the best route..

I like Leather Sheen. That's what I use on my holsters, except I took the easy way out - I get it in the rattle can.
