Belts: Sparks vs. Rosen vs. Beltman

I have been wearing a Looper kydex belt since July, it is a great belt but is starting to look ugly. The edges are wearing and it really isn't pretty anymore. I also have a Beltman dual layer bullhide belt, but I only wear that when I wear tucked and my belt has to show. Anyway, I am looking at purchasing a new everyday wear belt to replace the Looper. Something that will still look good after a years wear. Does anybody currently have a Sparks or Rosen belt? How do they compare to the beltman? I think the prices are all inline. Another question, is the beltman horse hide a better belt than the dual layer bullhide? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

As far as an everyday belt, Milt Sparks belts look great! I wear a dress shirt and tie everyday and the MS 1-1/4" black belt looks great with dress pants or Khakis and it does not look out of place. Rosen's belts are thicker which is nice but not what I look for in an everyday belt. I own a horsehide Beltman and that too works well as an everyday belt. Looper belts do show wear faster than others but they are so cheap that I overlook the issue.

I mentioned on another thread my purchase of 2 Looper Law Enforcement Belts...they arrived yesterday! I am impressed with the firmness and overall look of them...for only $30?????...good buy. We'll see, over time, how they wear...

Stay armed...stay safe!

Thumbs up

The Sparks belts are cut on a contour and are precurved for comfort which is a real nice plus.

Another question if anyone knows (I really didn't want to call them and bother them if I can help it) Does the Milt Sparks belts only come in 5 holes or 7 holes? And the hole spacing?

You can have them customize it for whatever you want. Its not a big deal. I've always made custom requests with no problems for belts.

Do you have to wait as long for a Milt Sparks belt as you do a holster? That would be a deal breaker for me.

So shark is the way to go? I called Milt Sparks and asked about the holes, they said as many as you want, but the spacing remains the same, about 7/8" of an inch.

My advice is to order a Belt at the Same time you order the Holster.

That way it comes as a "matched set". Each maker cuts his leather a little different and 1.5" is not exactly 1.5". For example, I have a 1.5" Ted Blocker Belt yet my Del Fatti Holster with 1.5" Belt Slots is very loose on that Belt. On my Bruce Gibson Belt it takes two men and a boy to get the Holster on the Belt.

Just my $0.02.
