Just to help clarify things. It is the front sight & muzzle of my Sig P239 that rubbed and created that hole. Those pants aren't jeans, but are a navy pair of cotton pants (not as durable as denim). The bottom section of kydex is smoothed out and doesn't create much friction against my pants so that in itself wouldn't make a wear mark. Granted the P239 doesn't have the 3" barrel that some subcompacts have so it does poke out below the kydex, but I wear it canted so that the muzzle hits right where that hole is.
