DIY beltster (cheap & easy)

I'm still trying to get a decent holster with no cash outlay, and found our sewing awl* - yay!. Having seen the Beltster:

and having some cotton webbing handy, I put this together:

I was pleased with how it holds the pistol, protects the trigger, keeps things snug into the body, and doesn't print. Here are some business shirt photos; T-shirts cover well, too:
Front: 3/4: Side:

A 'real' holster is still on the list for Father's Day/Birthday/Christmas, but I'm further down the road to proper carry than I was.

*Sewing awl, in case you didn't know what they were. They're super for sewing leather and hefty fabrics:

Good job. You do what you got to do. Better than leaving the gun at home. Good luck.

Great idea, this way your pistol will "never be in your other pants". One question I have, as I have seen discussions on this at texaschlforum.com before, what happens when you go to the head? I guess you would just have to be extra careful...

I always am... Oh, with the pistol.

I use a stall for all operations, hopefully a handicap stall for the extra room. One hand to holds the grip, with proper-trigger-discipline finger grasping belt, and trousers are cautiously dropped. The pistol stays put between belt and waistband, only around calves (#1) or bunched around ankles (#2) so that the pistol is supported in roughly the same orientation as when it is worn. Instant ankle-holster!

We aim to please. You aim too, please!

In that case I think you have found a very economical solution, I may have to go out and get me some material to do the same for myself.

Did you try your sewing machine? That's not a huge amount of material you're sewing through there so I'd think most sewing machines would do the trick and would be MUCH faster than the awl.

not my idea of a holster , however it is above and beyond just stuffing the thing in the waistband .

Very cool. With a little creativity and time, you could make something like that every bit as secure and safe as a "real" holster. The obvious benefit would be cost and concealability. Talk about THIN!!!!

I like.
