Brigade Holsters- Leather Gun Holsters & Accessories

I'm not really clear on the difference between a duty holster and the dedicated CCW holster.

Sorry if I'm not really clear on the details
Its close, but no cigar. A duty belt is going to be 2" or wider, this holster only works for 1 3/4" or smaller. Also, for duty use, you need to have some mechanical lock down to keep the holster clamped on the belt and in place. You also want an internal locking device to keep the gun in the holster, making it a level 2 as requested by the OP. This holster has none of that, it would be consider a level 1 because of the thumb break.

Sixto,

Thanks man, I didn't know all that.

I had thought that a level I was friction only, Level II was retention device ala thumb-break or rotating hood, and the Level III was twist and hood or thumb-break. I also didn't know about the belt width but that makes perfect sense to me.

That said, thanks again for getting me up to speed on the subject. And now back to your regularly scheduled topic.

The holster needs to be at least level 2 w/a hood. I will have to try the holster for a Springfield loaded that another LEO has. Hope this will work.

I think maybe the Blackhawk Level 2 duty SERPA autolock may work. They also offer a Level 3 duty SERPA autolock, but not sure if you can get it for a 1911.
