Taurus 1911 Duty Holster

Anyone here carry the Taurus 1911 as a duty weapon? I'm trying to find at least a level 2 duty holster for the Taurus.

I would think any good holster for a 1911 pistol will work since the Taurus is a standard 1911 pattern.

The Taurus is a bit wider and doesn't fit in a holster for a 1911. Tried one that carries a Kimber and it didn't fit.

Not many holster makers make anything for any Taurus. The PT1911 is going to be worse, as not many agencies use a 1911, let alone the slightly wider Taurus. Good Luck.

Oops, did not know the Taurus is wider, I currently carry a PT1911SS in a Wild Bill's Summer Heat. It was a bit of a tight fit at first but that is common with his holsters.

Taurus 1911.

I know alot of the Kimber 45's were built on a 9mm frame. (my TLE for one) You will have to go with a Springfield Loaded or Springfield TRP holster. I found this out while working at a gunstore from 05' to 07'.

Kid1911 I assume you mean a holster with a thumb break? If thats the case then I have found this company.

Brigade Holsters- Leather Gun Holsters & Accessories

I hope that helps your quest.

Oh yeah, they're really backlogged at the moment so it may take a while to get the leather.

They have some nice looking leather, but unfortunately, they don't make duty holsters.

Sixto,

wouldn't this be a close approximation?

Brigade Holsters- Leather Gun Holsters & Accessories

I'm not really clear on the difference between a duty holster and the dedicated CCW holster.

Sorry if I'm not really clear on the details
