I am going to order a Galco Bellyband

i like wearing basketball shorts and elastic band pants, etc. so i need a solution to carry since i can't use a belt.

Does anyone have a galco belly band?

this is what i plan to order: Galco Holsters Underwraps Belly Band

I have one that I wear when I need deep concealment. It seems to work ok but You have to get used to having something wrapped around your middle.Normaly I wear a don williams 721 open top,to me its a lot more comfortable. The bellyband holds the gun(glock g19) securely and it doesn't shift around.sj

I have a Galco Bellyband. It affords you a number of carry position options and is useful for concealing while wearing sweats, PJs, or basketball shorts. A handy tool IMO. I recently used mine to carry my SP101 while waiting for my holster delivery.

I wear my belly band a lot.

Consider this one.

Defender Gun Concealment Holsters

Can be had a little cheaper, I believe, by looking around on the net.

Breathable, customizable in many ways (at the time of order), and cheaper than the Galco, I believe.

a few $ cheaper, but do they run tight? depending on what i wear, my waist is between 44-48.

So looking at these 2 options brings up this question. When one goes with a belly band is it suggested to go with a cross draw or standard option? I ask this because of how deep the concealment is, I would think it would be more effective to say pull up your shirt with your left hand and draw with your right, or am I over thinking this a little?

a cross draw would work well for me, esp. while driving. i would have to do that anyway if i keep my sidearm between my emer. brake and my console.

i'd rather draw strong side though.

Paco: I think you may be over thinking it a bit. When I use my bellyband I strap it on at waist level and position the gun at 3 O'Clock and I effectively have IWB carry. About the same as with any IWB carry holster. The bellyband can be reversed for a crossdraw position if desired. Several options available with the bellyband. You can raise it above the naval or, as I usually do, lower it to belt level. I just don't like sitting for long periods with the thing wrapped around me.
