New HBE Gunleather for Hi-Power! Pictures!!
When I got my first Browning Hi-Power, I knew there were several things I needed to make it a really first-line CCW.
First was to remove the magazine disconnect and get a trigger job. This was taken care of by Cline's Trigger Shop here in San Antonio. Steve Cline has done work for me before, and he did an absolutely fabulous job on the Hi-Power. Second was to replace the factory grips. I got some truly excellent cocobolo grips made by Craig Spegel via Lightning Arms. Great feel, really fit my hand perfectly. Third was top-flight gunleather. This has been delivered in spades by Eric Larsen, H.B.E. Specialty LeatherWorks, a true master of the craft. I ordered a Com III IWB holster and a matching mag/flashlight pouch. As you'll see in the photos, the dark brown/shark trim result is everything I was hoping for. Eric took the time to find out about me, body build, carry style, any physical limitations, etc., to make sure he would build exactly the right holster to suit me. By the way, he also made an amazing shark guitar strap for me as well. I'll post pictures of that later. Here's the end product, delivered within two weeks of my order. Shown with Mec-Gar 15-round mag and SureFire G2Z: ![]() ![]() Closeup, showing the Craig Spegel grips: ![]() And one of just the Hi-Power: ![]() I am ecstatic about how the Hi-Power shoots and now, with the comfort and security of Eric's workmanship, I carry it regularly. Thanks, Eric!!

Nice rig Rod! Really love the whole set up. I swapped over to a BHP bout 2 months ago for CC and love it. Had a C&S safety put on and left it at that, as the trigger was crisp and I was hitting good with it.
Mine also resides in a COM III. Not as pretty as your's but she's a beaut in my eyes and buries the HP. IMO it is the best IWB out there! Now to the piggy bank for a pair of them grips! I double the thanks to Eric! Pistol ![]() Pistol and COM III ![]()

High Power
Really nice rig!! Something about High Powers and a nice leather...
I like the mag pouch with the shark, very classy/tasteful. How do you like the "fin"? I have heard good things but a few people have stated their body type didn't take to it, so to speak. Congrats and enjoy!!

One of the easiest advertising I've done so far! ![]() Don't mean to hijack this thread but I still think it's within the topic. Cuz now I get to order one just like you guys have - Sharkskin ROCKS! ![]() Thanks rodc13! ![]()

Glad to be inspiring, TwinCarry! And it's great that Eric gets some more bidness.
The "fin" is okay by me. Quite comfy, as it covers a few of the BHP's rough spots. Of course, the fact that I've lost 50 pounds since last November may have something to do with it, too. Hey, Sportsterguy! Did you take that picture on my deck? Check out the last three photos of my M1 in this thread and you'll see what I mean: M1 Garand - Got One!

Good thread guys. Rod, it was my porch that needs stained in the pic. Darn NC sun is brutal. Glad you are getting that sharkskin Twincarry. Silverwolf I love the fin. Keeps the pistol rock steady and seems to spread the pressure out. I'm 5'7" and about 175 and the thing fits like a glove. Was a 1911 guy for years but I've really fallen for this HP. Carries better for me than my ol SA Champ and I get 6 more shots if needed. Now a set of Novaks and them Spiegel grips

Beautiful holster! Eric does take good care of his customers. And I agree that shark does add great to the appearance of the holster.
I think were on to something great here... ![]() |

Wow that is SWEET! I have to conclude that in my opinion, the best looking holsters are the combination of cordovan and black sharkskin, just like what you all have. Glad we have the same taste in holsters! Checkout mine! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
