There's a reason for the long wait for the Sparks VM2. No wonder it's probably the most sought-after holster on the market!

Exactly right. I'm not big, but the beavertail on my 1911 was digging into me a lot. I bought a G&G with a sweat shield that fully covers the hammer/beavertail. It works great and keeps my side from getting all scratched/ gouged up.

Bingo. I have four VM2's. They get used. Most often a full size 1911 (one of the four is for a Micro Compact). And I'm about 50 lbs. over weight.

If the nearly six month wait is an issue, try Lightning Arms Sports who might have one in stock. If not, you could always buy a Summer Special II from Brownell's to get you through the wait.

I'm heavy...I carry my Kimber Ultra daily...I use a Fist #1A with a body protector (extra leather shield...gun doesn't touch body)...I also wear an extra shirt between the gun and my skin.
Super comfortable...

Take a look at UBG Holsters, the M tac by Comptac, and Andrews Mc Daniel II, having the slide shield will stopped you from getting poked.

The McDaniel II w/ body shield is the closest I've seen to what I want. The crossbreed super tuck has an enlarged body shield. If I could get the McDaniel (or something like it) with the enlarged body shield, I'd go for it! Thanks for all the suggestions.

Keep the beaver tail. I carry cocked & locked.
Can you adjust the cant on this holster to maybe 15 degrees?

I also use the VM-II with my Commander sized 1911 and I too have "dunlops" disease!
