IWB for 1911 for Guy w/ a Gut

Yeah, I wish I looked like my avatar (Sticks), but I don't. I've developed a gut and handles and am tired of getting stuck with the beavertail on my 1911. Anyone got a suggestion for an IWB holster that will make my carry more comfortable? I'd take a bath if I traded/sold one of my 1911's for a Commander or Officer's size.

OWB I use a Desantis Speed Scabbard without a hitch, but IWB with a JIT is a real pain in my side. Thanks all!

Take a look at the Brommeland Max Con V or the Milt Sparks Versa Max II. I love my Max Con V, and Coal Creek Armory has them in stock; and they are a forum sponsor to boot.

I carry a gut and a full size 1911 (both IWB.) My Milt Sparks VMII works just fine. Have you considered dumping the beavertail?

Thanks guys! They all look good. The best fix is for me to loose my gut (too much good food and too little exercise!). I don't want to dump the beavertail, but if I can't find THE holster for my situation I may have to.

Well if I can offer a suggestion...first off all of the makers here are more than worthy of consideration. World class leather all of the way....what you may want to find in your quest is a reinforced body shield, its two layers thick and large enough to cover the hammer/beavertail. Look around and you should be able to find one.....
Shoot well and god bless

I wouldn't dump the beavertail, but the VMII and Heritage Limited are both very comfortable. I sold the VMII after the Limited arrived, but I sweat a lot and live in a really hot, humid place.

The VM2 works well with my middle-age spread. Could your pants be too tight? I carry IWB with a size larger than my normal waist measurement. A proper quality matching belt is very important also.

I use a Bianchi #100 for IWB carry for my 1911 and for my Kahr P9. I first used a nylon IWB holster for the 1911 and the beaver tail killed me. The Bianchi has leather between the beaver tail and your skin. Protects very well. Size 14 fits the 1911; size 9 fits the P9.
Keep the beaver tail. I carry cocked & locked.

Thanks again to all. My choice is now between the VM2, Supertuck Deluxe, Bianchi #100 and the High Noon Public Secret. Geez....this is worse than the cereal aisle at the store!
