Carhartt Belts
I just saw a belt made by Carhartt that was leather with a nylon web overlay it looked to be quite stiff 1 1/2" wide and came in black , green and tan and for $29 it looked to be a good carry belt at a good price.

Yep, they are not bad at all. I use a Carhart bealt. Stiff and wide enough, yet they are still flexible and comfortable.

Sounds like the one I've used happily for well over a year now. One warning: If you try toforce an XD Gear Plastic holter in it, it will go on but the only way to get it back off is to cut it off. No problem with uncle mikes or crossbreed.

Belt
My brother has one... he loves it.
I had to open his belt loops on his holsters from 1.5" to 1.75" to keep the holsters from getting "stuck". Carhart uses English bridle leather (or atleast the 2 I own) and they last. I still have my first one and it is a little big now, but it is still holding up after almost 10 years.

I might also suggest the Double Duty belt from Cabelas. Double thick, stiff, and nice looking as well. A snap-on buckle makes it versatile--put on what you want.
Cheers!
